Birthday Celebration

It all began with these invitation I made:

Lily's Grandpa and Grandma McLelland, Aunt Anna, and Great-Grandparents Ashby came to her birthday party. We had so much fun! During the celebration, Lily decided to WALK! She had been taking a few steps here and there for a couple of weeks, but then she decided to take several while all the visitors were here. It was a pleasant surprised and all were excited!

She received LOTS of great gifts! Adorable clothes, fun toys and books!

We had decided to make a tradition of carving pumpkins at her birthday party, since her birthday is the 25th. Here are some pictures of the carving in action:

Playing with her new toys, after we went out to eat dinner. (She got a lot of her dinner in her hair, that is why she has a mowhawk. I tried to clean it a little before she ate her cake and before her quick bath)

We then enjoyed a yummy cake and ice cream. I had a lot of fun making this cake!
She gobbled it all up! Including the ice cream! :)

It was a WONDERFUL weekend! I truly wish it did not end because we enjoyed having company, and Lily had fun playing with others (and not just boring ol' mom!) We're so grateful to be living out West versus living in New England! Thank you for all those who attended and sent gifts for our Little Pumpkin!

Birthday Girl Turns 1

One year ago today, our precious, little girl was born. She has been the light of our lives and honestly don't know what we'd be like without her! She brings us so much happiness.

Lots of laughter is often heard in our home because of her.

So this one is to you, Lily Marie.

Trunk or Treat

Tonight was our ward's Trunk or Treat. We had a chili cook-off which was delicious! I contributed some cornbread. We then went outside for a little candy collecting. Lily was a giraffe this year. We thought she was adorable, as well as many of friends from the ward. Isn't she cute?

I guess she was too tired to enjoy it.

Gone Shootin'

So Brian bought himself a rifle, against my personal wishes. But we decided to go shoot it. It was actually a LOT of fun! Lily enjoyed being out in our 'backyard'.

Family Pics Fall 2009

We took a drive up the mountain, one last time before it gets too cold and before the snow comes. We had a nice picnic and took some family pictures. They didn't turn out the greatest, primarily because Lily was too busy playing with pine cones and sticks and looking at the trees . But some still turned out pretty cute.

Lily Update

Well, our little Lily has been quite sick. She seemed to have the flu but it never got better, so we took her to the doctor. In fact, we went to the doctor 3 times in one week. One of those visits was to the urgent care. On our 3rd visit we were sent to the hospital for dehydration. She continued to get worse and test after test, nothing was giving us answers. After 4 nights and 5 days of being in a cold, uncomfortable room. We were sent home. She was able to keep food down and most importantly, she was drinking water on her own! The doctors never did find out what exactly she had. Just a bad bug that hit her really hard! We're so glad she's home and doing very well! She back to eating everything and playing like she's never been sick!

because she pulled it out.

We opted to keep the big bed in her room, instead of the crib, so I could lay with her.

One morning when she wanted to drink! She was playing with her sippy cup!

Brian was out of town, in Kansas City, working when we went to the hospital but he got permission to fly home early to be with us.

They had to come on 2 different occasions to take xrays of her tummy.

She had and excellent case of bed head!

We would have never made it through without the support of our family and friends! The ward has been a HUGE support! Meals brought to us, clothes brought to us. My Mom was a BIG relief by coming to sit with us and she made Lily VERY happy! Thanks to EVERYONE!

P.S. At this same time, Brian has been sick and we finally got him to go the ER and ruled out that he has calcium deposits on his kidneys. He was given painkillers and will be seeing a specialist.
