I don't know what I was thinking when I made the post "YW in Excellence". It's our New Beginnings. I guess I was thinking too far in advance. Sorry about that!

This week is our New Beginnings program. I was trying to think of something that would be a little different and this is what I came up with. My friend has the equipment to print vinyl lettering, so she helped me out with this. I think it turned out kind of cute! The young women get to rub on the values themselves, as they go from 'station' to 'station' learning about each value. I think the young women will enjoy it!

Saturday afternoon, Brian, Lily and I went for a walk. We were out for about 45 minutes and this is what we found when we came home. The BEAUTIFUL weather put her right out. She LOVES being in the stroller because she's not quite as confined, like the carseat, and she can see everything!

One of our friends here in Dayton had a couple dressers that they didn't want anymore, so I said I'd be glad to take them off their hands.
So I sanded them down, painted them, and made them a little 'kid friendly'.
Here are the final products:
(We really like them. We think they turned out great!)

So For day 5 I decided to give Brian a back and shoulder massage. He had been on the road for just over a week and needed one! I'm NOT a fan of giving massages unless I get one in return. =) But I didn't even ask for one, I just willingly gave one to him.
Day 6 I made a delicious dinner and we ate by candle light and soft music in the background. I honestly DON'T remember the last time we had a nice dinner like that. (I think we were able to pull it off this time because Lily was asleep!) Following dinner I let Brian choose the movie we were to watch. (I didn't even complain about his choice) It was a very nice evening!

I usually tell myself that I'm not one to say 'no', but I thought it over, for this one, and said yes with a LOVING heart. I have agreed to pet sit a guinea pig for a week. One of my piano students asked me and I said yes.
We'll be spending the week with Mr. Fuzzy

Okay, per a few requests, here is the recipe for:
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
½ can sweetened condensed milk
Melt the butter; mix the graham cracker crumbs. Pat crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients over the crumbs in order given- in layers. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over all. DO NOT STIR. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

I made these WONDERFUL Magic Bars for a good friend of mine, Michelle. She has been extremely helpful with watching Lily while I am with the Young Women (whether it's on Sunday and I have to give the lesson or when I'm at mutual and Brian is gone). This past Sunday was a little rough for little Lily so I just had to make something for Michelle as a LITTLE thank you!
(I was told by one of her best friends that these were one of her favorites).
THANK YOU MICHELLE!

I had to give the lesson in YW today and it was "Seeking the Companionship of the Holy Ghost". It was a great lesson and I just had to make a little something for the girls. I know it was Fast Sunday but I knew the girls could wait until they got home to eat it. I made sugar cookies, in the shape of hearts with an attached scripture:
"Yea, Behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart,
by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and
which shalldwell in your heart."-Doctrine and Covenants 8:2
